While showcasing Dirk our work he told us to find a way to grab people’s atWhile presenting our work to Dirk, he advised us to find a way to capture people's attention.


My idea was to incorporate sounds, as they are omnidirectional attention-grabbers, unlike visuals alone. Initially, I added a cheerful "Yay" sound for the crab to provide positive feedback when you do something good, and a grumpy "Hmpf" sound to signal when you make a mistake.

The "Yay" sound proved to be excellent at grabbing people's attention, so I ended up overusing it at first.

In the end, I decided to add background music to the game, so I asked Josh which genre might suit it best.

Besides improvements in the sound department, Josh also advised me to add indicators for a better tutorial experience.
